For the last few weeks I’ve been working towards Buy Art Fair. It’s the first time I’ve taken part in the fair and will be showing new collages, 2 more days left to make more! I’m currently at my desk drowning in papers, eagerly waiting to be chosen!
I’m excited to be on the Manchester Craft & Design Centre shared stand, so I can walk along with those from MCDC that take part every year, and I’m in lovely company. More info on the others taking part in the MCDC link above. Yesterday our front room looked more like a mounting and framing waiting room . . .

. . . where I think, design, experiment, make, display, meet, discuss, re-home . . .
Last summer a selection of my collages were bought to feature in the bedrooms and suites of a stunning new hotel, the King Street Townhouse in Manchester’s city centre. The hotel opened earlier this year and I was recently invited to take a look around to see them in place. The hotel is beautiful, intriguing and unique and I am so delighted to be a part of it and to be amongst such an eclectic gathering of fabulous artworks.
” When finding Art for our Hotels, I’m looking for something, a bit different & occasionally quirky, that’ll add to the ambience & atmosphere of a room, giving our guests cause to look, not the run of the mill you often find in a hotel bedroom.
I arrived at the Manchester Craft & Design Centre hoping to do just that. I came across Clare Hillerby, her collages are individual, each one carefully & cleverly created separately, the only downside it can make them hard to choose from!
I really like her eclectic mix of objects & artefacts, bringing old & new in a colourful & imaginative composition.
Her art sits well with our bedroom design. “

I am excited to be taking part in the Little Northern Contemporary Craft Fair . . . this Sunday! It is now at Altrincham Town Hall, and across the road is the award winning Altrincham Market. I’d like to be at both places at once on Sunday!
I hope you can join us at this lovely event, there will be around 40 makers from many craft disciplines. I will be taking my jewellery, collages and cards. I’ve been busy making new jewellery recently and I’m working on new collages and cards this week!
