New postcard collages are available from Clare Hillerby Studio / Shop. They are a special edition of the collage / cards I’ve been making for awhile now. But have more painted elements and stitch and ready to be framed. The collages are postcard sized mounted on snow white board, are £17 each + postage and can be viewed at the shop, or get in touch for more details.

Birthday number 3
It’s my third birthday in the studio / shop at Manchester Craft and Design Centre and I still love it like it’s day one.
I am so appreciative of all the lovely customers I’ve had over those years and all the appreciation, feedback, encouragement and odd conversations, I’ve had a few good odd ones! It’s great to see how people react to the work and the unexpected ways that links them to it. It’s been great to develop collage commissions with people, assembling and archiving their treasured paper memories. And it’s been brilliant to make bespoke jewellery, tailored to people’s wants, tastes and budgets!
Thank you everyone who has stepped into my little space and enjoyed being there! Your support means I can keep doing what I was made to do! Thank you x

Making & Selling
My Studio and Shop home . . .
I’ve been working and selling at Studio 3 (#Studio3 !) for over ten months now and feeling very snug and at home. My collection is evolving the benefit of having the work around me to refer to, it’s quite an experience after many years of working on relatively small collections at a time then sending them straight off to a venue, that you often can’t visit! It makes a huge difference to developing pieces.
Here’s what I’ve been up to …
Between Christmas and New Year I have been moving studio, again, but this time still within the craft centre, to a bigger work and display space in studio 3, sharing with Linzi Ramsden ceramics. A very exciting new space with a great presence in the craft centre. We have been busy painting and setting up and are nearly ready for our launch mid March, a Saturday yet to be confirmed! We will also be curating a display of invited makers of various disciplines in three month exhibitions. Details will follow!
Last days of Forming Words . . .
Forming Words at Flow ends on 17th May, but fear not, it will then tour to Manchester Craft & Design Centre, opening on 7 July and running until 9 November, and while you’re visiting you can come and see me and my ever growing collection of jewellery & collages in lovely Studio 6! I’m very pleased to say that Flow have asked me to continue with them after the show and so I will be working on a new group for them over the next few weeks.
I’ve also added some new pieces to lovedazzle . . .
Jewellery + collages at Studio 6
I’ve had a wonderful first full week at Studio 6 at the Manchester Craft & Design Centre, lots of very lovely people to meet, and have lunch with at the Oak cafe which is well worth the visit alone, and I’ve now set up a collection of jewellery and collages to come and have a look at. Marie Canning was also in this week to set up an exhibition of her lovely work which will run for a couple of months. So come and visit!
New studio to visit . . .
I am very excited to tell you I have now moved to a new workspace at Studio 6 at Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Situated in the Northern Quarter just a few minutes from Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre.
My workspace is within the established studio of Tracey Birchwood and I will also be sharing with the lovely Charlotte Verity. We are open to the public Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5.30pm and I will be in most days.
I’ve been busy this week moving in and setting up my space ready to make some new work. I will soon be displaying a collection of jewellery and collages. And I am sure I will be blogging all about it along the way!
I hope you can visit!

Bunting!
I’ve had a lot of interest in my bunting after the open evening at the studio last month . . . so I decided to top them up and post about them! They are something I sell in the studio but feel free to get in touch if you’re interested. They are all made from original vintage papers, often from broken books or out of date maps, all in need of a new life. At the moment I have bunting made from Enid Blyton books, girls annuals, maps, a gardening magazine and music paper, so for indoor use! They are made from folded circles, (11.5cm wide) on approx 3 metres long ribbon, with a loop at each end secured with an old button, so they are easy to hang up. They are £16 each and I can post them free of charge. Take a look and feel free to comment or email me at post@clarehillerby.co.uk for further information or to order . . . or come along to the next open studio evening (dates yet to be decided)!

This morning
Sightings from my walk this morning up to the studio through Ancoats, some pics came out too sunny to use! Lots of textures, Ancoats is … the canal (no ducks or fishermen this morning tho), new apartments, against the characterful derelict, and the renovated textile mills, our studios being in one of them …
Open studios are open!
