New Collages
New postcard collages are available from Clare Hillerby Studio / Shop. They are a special edition of the collage / cards I’ve been making for awhile now. But have more painted elements and stitch and ready to be framed. The collages are postcard sized mounted on snow white board, are £17 each + postage and can be viewed at the shop, or get in touch for more details.
Birthday number 3
It’s my third birthday in the studio / shop at Manchester Craft and Design Centre and I still love it like it’s day one.
I am so appreciative of all the lovely customers I’ve had over those years and all the appreciation, feedback, encouragement and odd conversations, I’ve had a few good odd ones! It’s great to see how people react to the work and the unexpected ways that links them to it. It’s been great to develop collage commissions with people, assembling and archiving their treasured paper memories. And it’s been brilliant to make bespoke jewellery, tailored to people’s wants, tastes and budgets!
Thank you everyone who has stepped into my little space and enjoyed being there! Your support means I can keep doing what I was made to do! Thank you x
Second Birthday
The 1st of September was my 2nd birthday at Studio 20a, my lovely studio / shop, upstairs at Manchester Craft & Design Centre
I’d like to say thank you to all who have visited, and “come!” to those who would like to! (& sorry for those of you who are just too far away!)
Making & Selling
Christmas at Studio 20a
Christmas decorations have been hung, shops are stocked with goodies, and we have officially launched our festive period at Manchester Craft & Design Centre! Plus from the 1st of December we will be open 7 days a week. Monday to Saturday from 10am until 5.30pm (as usual) but also Sundays from 11am until 5pm. There is also a new exhibition to see Exploring Wonderland, a celebration of 150 years of Alice in Wonderland. Hope you can join us!
Things have progressed …
I have made progress at my new studio / shop here at the craft centre. All the painting, bench building, cabinet hanging, shelf making and days of painting everything in sight are coming to a close! I’ve just hung drawers of jewellery in the window today and the last big job is to hang my sign, but I am very happy to be open and it’s all going nicely!
My very own shop!
It’s been awhile, it’s been so very busy!
I am so pleased to announce that I now have my own Studio & Shop at Manchester Craft & Design Centre. When I first visited Manchester 4 years ago I visited the Craft Centre and have been dreaming of having my own place to work and sell my jewellery and collages.
I have now been here in Manchester for 3 1/2 years, I can’t believe it’s been that long, but at the same time a very short time to find a lovely flat, my very own shop, good friends, and my soul mate!
We are open to visit from Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 5.30pm, then Sunday’s too in December.
I will be having a special launch very soon, once I have painted some more and made some work benches I will set a date and announce it here!
My Studio and Shop home . . .
I’ve been working and selling at Studio 3 (#Studio3 !) for over ten months now and feeling very snug and at home. My collection is evolving the benefit of having the work around me to refer to, it’s quite an experience after many years of working on relatively small collections at a time then sending them straight off to a venue, that you often can’t visit! It makes a huge difference to developing pieces.
My current stockists
If you are in or around Devon you can now find a collection of my work at The Contemporary Craft Festival Shop, illustrated is a selection from the collection available there . . .
I have added a few new outlets recently, please see my list below, and you can also check my stockists at any time on my website here.
Of course you can visit me at my Studio / Shop (No appointment needed), where I will always have a full collection of my jewellery, collages and collage cards available to browse, or you can discuss a bespoke piece if you like.

Here’s what I’ve been up to …
Between Christmas and New Year I have been moving studio, again, but this time still within the craft centre, to a bigger work and display space in studio 3, sharing with Linzi Ramsden ceramics. A very exciting new space with a great presence in the craft centre. We have been busy painting and setting up and are nearly ready for our launch mid March, a Saturday yet to be confirmed! We will also be curating a display of invited makers of various disciplines in three month exhibitions. Details will follow!
New additions . . .
I’ve just added five new items to my profile on Made by Hand online using my stash of found vintage rulers . . .
I’ve also been working on adding to my collection at Studio 6, here is just a taster . . .
Jewellery + collages at Studio 6
I’ve had a wonderful first full week at Studio 6 at the Manchester Craft & Design Centre, lots of very lovely people to meet, and have lunch with at the Oak cafe which is well worth the visit alone, and I’ve now set up a collection of jewellery and collages to come and have a look at. Marie Canning was also in this week to set up an exhibition of her lovely work which will run for a couple of months. So come and visit!
New studio to visit . . .
I am very excited to tell you I have now moved to a new workspace at Studio 6 at Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Situated in the Northern Quarter just a few minutes from Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre.
My workspace is within the established studio of Tracey Birchwood and I will also be sharing with the lovely Charlotte Verity. We are open to the public Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5.30pm and I will be in most days.
I’ve been busy this week moving in and setting up my space ready to make some new work. I will soon be displaying a collection of jewellery and collages. And I am sure I will be blogging all about it along the way!
I hope you can visit!
